He is support specialist in Shaprepoint Technologies. He helps people set up and troubleshoot issues related to Sharepoint services.

He said that he has heard, Google is expected to introduce an intranet solution, and Sharepoint server is an intranet solution from Microsoft.
You mean like "Google Sites"? That is pretty interesting, as if it is true - Google are competing with Microsoft on yet another front. Would you/your friend say that Sharepoint stands in (in)direct competition with solutions like First Class?
